FAQs For Our Facial Services

FAQs For Our Facial Services

How Do Facials Help?

Facials help remove dead skin to bring brighter and younger-looking skin to the surface. Regular facials can delay the signs of aging, and relax and destress you, while also increasing blood flow to your entire face.

What is the Best Way For Me to Determine If Your Facial Service is Safe?

When you visit Dr. Hauschka, we will provide you with personalized support to help you reach your aesthetic goals, and we will work hard to make sure you get beautiful, long-lasting results. Our trained therapists are completely focused on you. Each member of our staff continues to pursue further training to ensure that we are knowledgeable and up to date on the most recent procedures in order to provide you with the best possible care.

Don't worry, the products we use during facial services are only Dr. Hauschka products. Our products are created with organically-grown ingredients. All products are 100% natural and organic, and they are designed to bring back youthfulness in all skin types. Our range of moisturizers, face masks, and more will rejuvenate your skin.

Are Here Different Facials For Different Skin Types?

Yes, indeed. The therapist will make you fill out a form before performing any facial. The form will tell the therapist about your current medication, skin care products, recent facial procedures (e.g. injections, peels, laser), and your main skin concern. The therapist will discuss the details you have.

Before beginning the facial, the therapist will conduct a skin consultation to assess your skin type. Following the determination of your skin type (dry, oily, sensitive, mature, or dehydrated), the products used in your facial would be suitable for your skin type.

How Do I Know What Kind of Facial to Get?

You should choose a facial based on the type of skin you have and the problem you want to be addressed. Furthermore, our therapist will provide skin consultation to determine what skin type you have and perform various skin treatments according to clients' needs.

Can I Get a Facial During Pregnancy?

It is generally safe to get a facial while pregnant as our services do not provide any harsh treatments. Furthermore, the products that we use are 100% natural and organic. Most of the skincare we buy, no matter the price point, is made with synthetics and contains toxins that are not healthy for our bodies, let alone a growing baby. Although the effect of these may not be immediate, the growing number of cases of diseases contracted due to exposure to harsh chemical ingredients found in skincare today is definitely a concern. Dr. Hauschka's skincare products are safe for pregnancy.

Contact your healthcare doctor before scheduling your appointment to ensure that it will be safe for you and your baby. Also, inform them of the type of facial you'll be getting and the skincare ingredients that will be used.

How Many Times Should a Facial Treatment Be Done?

It is recommended that those who adopt a facial regimen get a suitable facial once a month for optimum results and a glowing complexion. The frequency usually is higher for newcomers. Newcomers can get at least two to four facials a week at first, then every ten to fifteen days as prescribed. Many depend on the client’s age, skin type, sun exposure, and overall skin health.

Will a Facial Cause Me to Have Pimples or Acne?

Yes, facials have the benefit of energizing tired skin into performing its functions. The massage and cleaning technique in a facial will cause your skin to target and heal certain areas if a congested pore needs to be purged.

A light breakout is still possible if you haven’t had treatment before or haven’t had one in a long time. An allergic reaction to our skincare products, which may appear as a breakout, does not occur in facials. A rash will occur when you try a new product and a strong ingredient in it does not agree with your skin.

Our therapists are well trained to recognize possible causes in your skin that could lead to either of these forms of breakouts, and we only use Dr. Hauschka products which are safe and gentle on the skin. Facials are intended to benefit the skin rather than damage it.

I Have Sensitive Skin, What Products Do You Use?

If your skin reacts to perfumes (even essential oils), avoid using products that include fragrances or other harsh substances linked to skin sensitivity. Our products and formulations were based on natural ingredients and free from silicones and PEG, as well as synthetic preservatives, dyes, and fragrances.

Does a Facial Hurt?

Depends! Some facials are painful such as when doing the extraction, but they don’t have to be. You’re either someone who enjoys being pampered and letting everything feed you well, or you want us to “get in there” and clean out your pores. However, with a good facial extraction spa, our therapist would tailor the treatments to suit every individual's pain level.

Are Extractions Done During Facials Good?

Facials that include extractions are beneficial because they help to deeply cleanse the pores. This helps to keep skin clear and smooth out bumps. Most skin types can get extractions, but some may need more extractions than others.

What Happens During an Extraction?

First, the skin will be cleansed with steam for a few minutes, to soften the skin and prepare it for easier extractions.

Next, extractions are performed under bright light, so that it's easier to see the pores that require deeper treatment. Pressure is applied around the pore to extract the contents. This may be done using a special metal tool designed for this purpose. Extractions can sometimes be a lengthy process.

Do Facial Extractions Leave Scars?

When done right, extractions should not leave any acne scars. However, marks are a normal side effect of extractions due to the pressure on the skin and are temporary.

Is Extraction Good For Acne?

When performed by a therapist, acne extraction is a safe way to get rid of blackheads and whiteheads.

What Should I Avoid Pre-Treatment?

In the week prior to your facial, you should be gentle on your complexion. Don’t pick it, don’t aggravate it, and don’t use harsh chemicals/exfoliants or treatments (e.g. Botox). Just give your skin a break for a week so you can set yourself up for an amazing experience. Know your at-home products.

Our therapist will ask you about your daily skincare routine. If you’re concerned about your skin, they can give you better-informed advice about what you should be using to tackle the issue; it may be that one or more of your products isn’t the best for your skin type, so it’s worth having a mental checklist of what you use every day.

Don’t wax or shave (up to 48 hours) before a facial. Hair removal can make your skin feel more sensitive, so you’re likely to experience discomfort (like tingling or stinging) during the treatment if you’ve waxed or shaved beforehand.

Are you taking any medication? If you’re using an oral medication that’s known to thin the skin (such as Roaccutane), it is recommended that you discontinue use up to 3 months before getting a facial treatment.

Avoid sunbathing and tanning beds at least one week before your treatment. If you’ve got sunburn, facials are the last thing your skin wants (or needs!). Let any sun damage properly heal before booking a treatment.

Don’t over-exfoliate in the two or three days leading up to it’s important not to let your skin become too sensitive before it's properly buffed clean.

Can I Get a Suntan After the Facial?

Once you get your facial, you should be extra cautious for 48 hours and make sure your skin doesn't receive prolonged sun exposure. Of course, after a facial, you should wear Dr. Hauschka's Sun Cream to protect your skin. But of course, that is what you should do any time you go out in the sun, not just post-facials.

Our Tinted Face Sun Cream conjures up a fresh, sun-kissed complexion. At the same time, it protects against UV radiation and prevents sun-induced skin aging. The formulation with select medicinal plant extracts strengthens the skin, while the rich texture gently pampers and activates your skin’s natural ability to retain moisture. Our Tinted Face Sun Cream is water-resistant and your ideal companion for a day in the sun. Apply as needed after your day cream or oil to give your skin added SPF protection. After a facial, your new skin will be more sensitive to the sun’s harmful rays too, so stay out of it for a few days.

When Do Results Start Showing?

As soon as possible. You will find smaller, almost invisible pores, an even smoother and more radiant skin tone, and supple, hydrated, younger-looking skin when your facial is done.

Are There Facials For Men?

Yes, we do provide facials for men. Men, like women, would need a skin consultation, and their facial would be tailored to their skin type too.

Why Didn’t You Get All My Blackheads Out?

It’s nearly impossible to remove every single blackhead. However, some are very stubborn and may be too difficult to remove without scarring or infection. Keep in mind we are trying to improve your skin not to damage, if pressured to remove them, your skin would be irritated. Our therapist will vocalize that not all were removed and suggest a plan or next visit to remove the remaining. It can be painful but if you drink lots of water prior to your facial appointment that will help soften the skin and sebum for a less painful experience.

What Results Can I Expect From This Treatment?

Everyone's skin is different, so different skin types may react differently. Depending on what products you have or are currently using on your skin can affect, facials or any other modalities used in the therapist field. Therefore, it may take time to see the changes.

What is the Post-Treatment After a Facial?

DOs

  • Apply Dr. Hauschka's Face Sun Cream 20-30 minutes before venturing outside. Reapply after every two hours of exposure during the day.
  • At night before going to sleep, apply a moisturizer or Dr. Hauschka's Night Serum to keep your skin hydrated.

DON'Ts

  • Avoid touching your face and wearing heavy make-up.
  • Don’t use any intensive products for a few days. Also, go easy while working out, and do not scrub your face too hard while washing it or when you sweat.
  • Avoid threading or waxing your face and do not go for sun tanning or sunbathing for a few days.
  • Avoid going to the gym and the sauna. Whilst it’s always good to work up a sweat, you should reschedule your gym session following a facial; sweat can irritate fresh skin, especially after an extraction. Similarly, saunas are a no-go post-treatment. You’ve already been cleaned and steamed, heating your face up and steaming it some more is likely to irritate your skin or lead to broken capillaries.
