What is the proportion of certified tropical raw materials such as palm oil in Dr. Hauschka cosmetics?
96% of our tropical raw materials, such as palm oil, cocoa butter, coconut oil and carnauba wax, come from certified sources or WALA’s own organic cultivation projects where we can absolutely guarantee fair trade standards. Fair trade standards mean fair working conditions and no child labour. 100% of the aforementioned 96% of tropical raw materials are sourced from controlled organic cultivation. Furthermore, 66% are certified by the international environmental protection organisation Rainforest Alliance, 22% are Fairtrade-certified and 8% come from a close, long-standing WALA partner. We generally re-check the good and fair working conditions offered by this partner once a year by conducting on-site visits.
How are your product? How do you maintain products freshness?

- Use of natural ingredients with stabilizing properties
- Natural ingredient compositions with a resistance to spoilage
- Quality control testing of raw materials and products throughout production
- Pharmaceutical-grade manufacturing facilities that minimize exposure to contaminants
- Packaging that supports the stability of each product.
Please be assured that Dr. Hauschka Skin Care’s holistic approach to formulating and manufacturing supports our commitment never to use synthetic preservatives. If you ever have any questions or concerns, email us at contact@pamperinc.sg.
Dr. Hauschka Skin Care products use organic alcohol also known as ethanol (i.e., not petroleum-derived isopropyl alcohol). Our alcohol is made by fermenting organic grains with yeast then distilling—the same process used for making alcoholic beverages. The alcohol is denatured using pure essential oils
Which of your products contain vitamins and antioxidants?
Our holistic approach to skin care does not include “feeding” the skin with isolated or synthetic vitamins. Dr. Hauschka products do however feature whole plant oils and extracts that are naturally rich sources of antioxidants including seabuckthorn, rose hip, horse chestnut, avocado, wheat germ, carrot, rosemary, argan and acerola berry.
Do your products contain ingredients made with GMO's
Dr. Hauschka Skin Care, Inc. and our manufacturer, WALA Heilmittel view genetic manipulation as a dangerous practice. The consequences of tampering with nature in this way cannot be fully foreseen. Dr. Hauschka Skin Care, Inc. and WALA Heilmittel are firmly opposed to genetic modification of plants and animals. Since 1997 WALA has been actively working to ensure that genetically modified ingredients are not used in Dr. Hauschka Skin Care products. WALA maintains a close watch on botanical raw materials and vigilantly identifies ingredients that pose a risk for GMO contamination. When conventionally grown plants with a high probability for genetic manipulation must be used, WALA insists on testing and certification from suppliers. Beginning in 1998, WALA’s supplier of soy lecithin has conducted independent genetic testing to certify their source material is GMO-free.
Are your products vegan or vegetarian
Dr. Hauschka Skin Care upholds holistic principals but does not ascribe to a vegetarian or vegan philosophy. Though we do no animal testing, several humanely obtained animal ingredients: lanolin, honey, propolis, beeswax, lactose and royal jelly are included in many Dr. Hauschka products. We also employ carmine and silk, two ingredients from insects.
Why do you use lanolin?
Lanolin is a waxy oil that is nearly identical to human sebum. Lanolin is a moisturizing ingredient and a natural emulsifier. The lanolin in Dr. Hauschka products is humanely obtained from New Zealand sheep and processed to the highest standards of purity to eliminate allergen concerns.
What is titanium dioxide and why is it used in Dr. Hauschka Decorative Cosmetics
A very stable metallic mineral, titanium dioxide is extremely effective as a color pigment. The Scientific Committee of the European Union recently completed extensive reviews of titanium dioxide as color pigment and has found no evidence of mutagenicity, carcinogenicity or other toxicity for the non-micronized color pigment variety used in Dr. Hauschka Skin Care.
I am allergic to peanuts. Should I be considered about the peanut oil used in Dr. Hauschka Skin Care products?
The peanut oil used in Dr. Hauschka products is treated with steam and subsequently filtered, which removes the proteins that cause allergic reaction. While the likelihood of an allergic reaction to the peanut oil used in Dr. Hauschka products is extremely low, we suggest those with peanut allergy discuss this issue with their health provider
Why is talc in your products?
Talc provides smooth application and even blending of mineral pigments in Dr. Hauschka Decorative Cosmetics. Talc absorbs oil, not water, so cannot support bacteria and keeps make-up vivid and fresh throughout the day. Studies show that talc is a safe and effective ingredient for cosmetic use. It is an inert mineral with no inherent toxicity. All talc in Dr. Hauschka Decorative Cosmetics is certified asbestos-free.
Do your products contain gluten?
Given the increased awareness and incidence of celiac disease and gluten intolerance, Dr. Hauschka Skin Care is highlighting information about gluten content in our products to consumers.
We are pleased to say that nearly all Dr. Hauschka Skin Care products for the Face, Bath and Body, including Make-up, are gluten-free. The exception is Soothing Cleansing Milk, which contains hydrolyzed wheat gluten and lactobacillus/oat/rye/wheat seed extract ferment, which may also contain gluten and is not suitable for people with allergies to wheat. Those with celiac disease can safely use this product if they avoid getting the product in the mouth.
Wheat germ oil, tocopherol (Vitamin E) and alcohol are wheat-derived ingredients that do not contain gluten. We have verified to the best of our ability that no other gluten or wheat substances are used during the manufacture of Dr. Hauschka Skin Care or its ingredients.
What is the "fragrance" or "parfum" listed in your ingredients?
Dr. Hauschka fragrances are carefully composed, proprietary blends of the purest, highest quality essential oils. European regulations require that we list our pure essential oil scents as ” Parfum” while in the US the required declaration is “Fragrance.” No synthetic fragrance or perfume ingredients are ever used to scent Dr. Hauschka products.
Why do you occassionaly modify Dr. Hauschka product formulations?
Dr. Hauschka products are all made using carefully-crafted formulations that have often been successfully used for years. This means that some products have remained almost unchanged for decades. However we should note that our understanding of the skin and natural substances is constantly developing and we would never want to rule out using new, effective ingredients when suitable. In addition, we will revise a formulation when raw materials needed for a product are no longer available that meet our high quality requirements. We may also revise a product formulation due to changes in regulatory or legal requirements relating to cosmetic products.
As a result, slight modifications are occasionally made to a product’s formulation and declaration of contents/ingredients.
Rest assured that the changes we make to formulations always maintain or optimize their existing quality. The ingredients have never and will never be changed for cost reasons. And any change to a formulation is always reflected in the ingredient declaration on the packaging.
Why do some of the Dr. Hauschka Skin Care products contain alcohol?
Herbs and flowers are the core of Dr. Hauschka Skin Care preparations and many are extracted in a mixture of alcohol and water. We use a certified organic food-grade ethyl alcohol (ethanol) from wheat. Many plants are extracted in alcohol because it extracts the widest variety of plant constituents. Alcohol also serves as a natural emulsifier, preservative and carrier, helping ingredients penetrate the skin. Alcohol is not drying to the skin when part of a carefully formulated Dr. Hauschka composition. Our alcohol is derived from a fermentation and distillation process and is gluten-free. The alcohol is denatured using pure essential oils. Petroleum-derived isopropyl alcohol is never used in Dr.Hauschka Skin Care products.

Why doesn't Dr. Hauschka make a night cream?
Moisturizers are exactly what your skin needs during the day. There’s no doubt about that. During the day, our skin benefits from the care of waxes and oils, which protect skin from the elements as we’re out and about living our lives.
At night, the opposite is true—moisturizers are not needed. Once the sun sets, your skin is biologically programmed to perform its natural nighttime functions of self-cleansing, balancing oil production and cellular renewal. However, if you apply oil-based moisturizing products like night creams, they can interfere with these essential tasks.
Dr. Hauschka’s carefully formulated, water-based preparations bolster your skin’s natural nighttime processes. Featuring combinations of balancing and rejuvenating botanicals that are easily and completely absorbed, Dr. Hauschka night care products like Facial Toner and Clarifying Toner, Night Serum, Regenerating Serum and Renewing Night Conditioner support the skin’s nighttime processes without interference. They simply and naturally work with the skin so it can better take care of itself. The result is skin that greets each morning with a rosy, radiant glow.
Water-Based Nightly skin care
At night, your skin flourishes when offered water-based night care products like Night Serum that allow skin to breathe freely, regenerate and revitalize. Dr. HauschkaSkin Care recommends only water-based preparations at night so the skin´s important night-time processes can function properly without becoming dependent upon product.
Do you test on animals?
We neither perform nor commission animal testing of our products or ingredients. Compliance with the European ban on animal testing of cosmetics and cosmetic ingredients is verified during certification of our products as Natural and/or Organic Cosmetics according to the BDIH and/or NATRUE standards.

What are the differences between the different Dr. Hauschka Masks?
Clarifying Steam Bath and Clarifying Clay Mask work together to absorb impurities while promoting the skin’s cleansing and exfoliation processes.
Firming Mask hydrates and firms the skin, offering fortifying and elasticity benefits. Regular use visibly reduces fine lines and wrinkles.
Hydrating Cream Mask is a rich, hydrating treatment that renews and replenishes dry, depleted skin.
Revitalizing Mask revitalizes pale, lackluster skin, reduces the appearance of large pores and blemishes, and calms redness and sensitivities.
Soothing Mask balances skin, transforming the appearance of red, irritated skin to a calm, even state.
Why do you recommnend Clarifying Day Oil for oily skin?
Though it might seem counterintuitive to apply oil to an oily complexion, it’s actually the effective solution. The skin knows whether it is sufficiently protected, producing more of its own oil when skin is dry and less when it’s balanced. Harsh, drying cleansers and oil-free acne treatments can rob the skin of protective oils and trigger the sebaceous glands to produce even more oil. Dr.Hauschka’s Clarifying Day Oil provides a light, clean layer of pure plant oils and botanical extracts that calm the skin’s oil production while helping to heal and soothe blemishes and irritation.
Are your eye products opthalmologically tested?
All products for use around or near the eye undergo ophthalmologic testing. All products are also dermatologically tested.

This unique blend of rhythmitised ingredients supports the skin’s natural processes of night-time renewal; dry skin is encouraged to retain oil and moisture; sensitive skin is soothed; oily, blemished skin is calmed and balanced. Regenerating Serum is an oil-free day and night care product that meets the needs of mature skin (40 years and older). The serum supports the moisture-binding capacity of the skin, strengthens and vitalises the functions of mature, skin. Apply in the morning to the cleansed skin before applying your day care product. Use in the evening as oil-free night care after a course of treatment with Renewing Night Conditioner.

Beginning at the forehead, press the product in using your fingers and the tops of your palms, rolling outward from the center and lifting as you roll. The mild suction created helps remove dead cells, dirt and oil. Work downward and outward with this press and roll motion for one to three minutes, then rinse with warm water and finish with a cool splash.

Why do the Sun Care Products contain alcohol?
For Dr. Hauschka Sun Care, we use alcohol in the form of ethanol, which is produced from organic cereals by alcoholic fermentation. In the form of a water-alcohol mixture, it serves as an extraction medium for our specially produced plant extracts. This results in the generally low alcohol content in the final product. Alcohol is, on the one hand, an important extraction agent with which the valuable ingredients can be extracted from the plants. Other advantages of small amounts of alcohol are the stabilizing effect, the improvement of the solubility and emulsifying ability of fat-soluble ingredients and the undisputed toning effect, which contributes to the efficacy of the cosmetic product. Used in small quantities and in composition with refatting plant oils and waxes, alcohol does not have a drying effect. Dr. Hauschka sun care is therefore very well tolerated. This is also confirmed by tolerance tests at specialized, external institutes.
I prefer using SPF 50 over SPF 10 and SPF 30. Will there be any SPF 50 products in the near future?
We want you to learn to live peacefully with the sun. The sun is useful for your health, for your skin. But not in an excessive way. You have to let your skin adapt to sun exposure. And if you do properly, you don’t need a high SPF.
